Peafowl
Peafowl offer a rare combination of beauty and simplicity. With their iridescent plumage and dramatic displays, peacocks provide a striking visual presence that elevates farms and homesteads, while requiring far less daily labor than traditional livestock. They free-range, forage much of their own diet, and don’t demand daily milking, egg collection, or intensive feeding—making them a low-input way to add both character and visual impact to a rural property.
For the first 25 days we set our peafowl eggs in a GQF 1502 Sportsman Cabinet Incubator at 60% humidity. On day 26 the eggs are “locked-down” in a Redwood Heahy Favorite Cabinet Incubator at 70% humidity.
The Galena Homestead Indian Blue Peahens lay their eggs in April and May. It takes 28 days for a fertile egg to hatch in the incubator. We sell several of our 4 weak old chicks every year. Please use the Contact Us form to inquire about the availability of the birds.
