Sire Battery

Sires set the direction of the flock. At the Galena Homestead, our sire battery is selected to reinforce long-term genetic progress, strengthen maternal families, and produce predictable results under real production conditions. Each sire is chosen for a defined purpose within the program.

How We Select Sires

Our sires are used intentionally, not interchangeably.

  • Maternal sires strengthen fertility, mothering ability, and replacement consistency

  • Growth-oriented sires support early-to-market lambs while maintaining balance

  • Composite / system-specific sires are applied selectively where hybrid vigor or added performance is needed

Each sire has a job before he is ever turned out.
